Jill McCabe to step down as Professionals Australia CEO

Professionals Australia today announced that Jill McCabe will step down as CEO, effective 29 February.

Since October 2020, Jill has worked tirelessly to empower and support our members, helping steer the organisation through the difficult pandemic years, when she advocated on behalf of our members, many of whom played a key role during the pandemic.

Under her leadership, we have delivered wage rises and better working conditions for engineers and other workers in the STEM sector, where Jill has been a relentless advocate, especially for women.

Our membership has grown, especially in ICT and has expanded to include workers in the game development industry, and Professionals Australia has undertaken important work to improve information, services and support for our members.

Jill strengthened our advocacy to government, especially with respect to pharmacists, translators and interpreters, and engineers, and Professionals Australia became an Assessment Entity for engineer registration in Victoria.

On behalf of the Board and our members we would like to thank Jill for her significant contribution to Professionals Australia and we wish her all the very best for her future endeavours.

The Board has appointed Paul Inglis as Interim CEO while we commence a process to recruit a new CEO. There is a strong leadership team among our staff, to support the Board to continue progressing our Strategic Plan.

We will update members, staff and stakeholders as the recruitment process progresses.
