David Smith has criticised the ’appalling’ timing of the announcement to ’spill and fill 135 jobs’ at Canberra’s largest electricity and gas provider.
ActewAGL is spilling and filling 135 jobs on top of abolishing 25 currently vacant positions and making 14 full-time staff redundant.
David Smith, ACT director of Professionals Australia said that announcement meant that “more than 100 families will go into the Easter period uncertain of whether their main bread-winner would still have a job”.
“There are no guarantees that all the 135 staff would remain employed at the territory’s largest electricity and gas provider,” said Mr Smith.
