ENGAGE-logo-005Ask most people living in our cities about infrastructure and they will share their frustration about the time it takes to get to work because of road congestion and overcrowded trains.

Ask people in country towns and regional centres and they will show you examples of neglected infrastructure and tell you about the project delays that create barriers to economic growth.

Australians are well aware of the big and small challenges facing the nation.

Better transport, water, and energy infrastructure means we can maintain a high standard of living while improving our country’s ability to attract business investment. Australia falls behind If we do not build the infrastructure our community needs.

We are seeing too many decisions that fail to invest in skills or listen to the advice of engineers. These decisions lead to project delays and are wasting taxpayers’ money

Engage is the Transport campaign to lift the respect and recognition of Australian engineers.

Engineers are vital to the delivery of the infrastructure we need to drive and maintain Australia’s enviable standard of living. It’s time to ENGAGE.

Four things you can do:

Here are four practical things you can do to help us get Australia and our engineering profession back on track:

1. Sign up and support the campaign

We all know that numbers count and no more so than when you are trying to change the way governments and large businesses work. We need to make sure we have as many engineers as possible joining our campaign to show widespread support for a better future for Australian engineers.

2. Contact your Local MP

Raise your concerns with your local representative – after all, that’s what they are there for.

Our politicians need to know our nation is wasting billions of dollars of taxpayers’ money and there is a much better way forward.

3. Let us know

Do you have story of where a lack of engineering capacity has caused project overruns or endangered the public?

Give us a call on 1300 273 762 or email engage@professionalsaustralia.org.au

4. Share the campaign with your colleagues

Let your colleague know about this campaign and help spread the word throughout the industry.
