The House Standing Committee on Education, Employment and Training is inquiring into the efficiency, effectiveness and coherency of Australian Government funding for research in the following areas:
- diversity, fragmentation and efficiency of investment across the Federal government;
- the role undertaken by institutions in managing applications for research funding;
- the efficiency of dual funding systems to cover costs of research; and
- maximising the impact of funding to prioritise public benefit.
Professional Scientists Australia has made a submission into this inquiry on behalf of independent MRI researchers who endure insecure employment and uncertain career paths.
Your commitment is the bedrock of this highly-trained specialist research workforce – we will continue to make the voices of MRI researchers heard in Canberra. Read the submission here.
