As many members would be aware APESMA established the Chifley Business School in 1989 to help provide management education and training to APESMA members.
It has been apparent in recent years, as more competitors including large universities enter the market, that maintaining Chifley’s position would require a significant investment of funds.
Earlier this year we were approached by the Australian Graduate School of Business (AGSB) to consider a sale of the business.
The APESMA board carefully considered this option with the condition that we maintain the current benefits to our members.
I wish to inform APESMA members that we have decided to take up AGSB’s offer and as such last week we changed ownership of Chifley to AGSB.
This new arrangement ensures that APESMA members will continue to have access to high quality management training and education at a greatly discounted price.
We expect that the new management of Chifley will have little impact on APESMA members and existing students of Chifley Business School. In fact we expect that this sale will result in even higher quality training and education opportunities for our members.
Chifley’s academic chair has also determined that the additional faculty resources available to Chifley under this arrangement can only serve to strengthen Chifley’s already strong academic credentials.
We believe that the Australian Graduate School of Business is in the best position to invest in the business and ensure its success now and into the long term future.
APESMA is and will continue to be proud of our relationship with Chifley and we expect Chifley will remain a specialist provider of high quality management training to technical professionals, particularly APESMA members, and remain a leader in online delivery of educational programs.
