Workplace bullying is a big problem in Australia and we need your input to help stamp it out.
While the prevalence of workplace bullying obviously causes great distress for employees and often managers too, the problem also has a quantifiable effect on our economy.
In fact according to the Productivity Commission the Australian economy loses between $9 billion and $36 billion every year from lost productivity caused by bullying in Australian workplaces.
Prime Minister Julia Gillard has now established a parliamentary inquiry into workplace bullying and APESMA will prepare a submission to this inquiry based on the feedback of APESMA members.
Many people believe that workplace bullying doesn’t happen to professionals but in a 2009 APESMA survey almost 40 per cent of professional women reported experiencing some form of bullying.
We value your views and encourage all APESMA members to complete this quick ten minute survey on workplace bullying – whether it has happened to you or not, we want to understand its impact.
