Anne is an internationally renowned expert in counter-terrorism and counter-radicalisation. She also started an organisation “People Against Violent Extremism” which is a mentoring program for young activists. The mentoring program includes training through My Hack, which trains university students to brainstorm and develop counter-messaging to extremist propaganda online.
Anne was the only Australian to be invited to President Obama’s White House conference on violent extremism in 2015. She has worked with the United Nations on developing programs and policies on national security and counter-terrorism.
Our WA APEA committee are endeavouring to align our state rules with Professionals Australia’s federal rules. This entails changing our yearly state election process to bi-annually, to align WA with our Federal Commitments.
This will enable both committees to work more productively together to ensure that WA members will continue to be represented and heard but also giving a greater opportunity to our committee members to build a stronger understanding of what needs to be achieved for our members in WA.
This change will be put to vote at this years’ AGM. If any member objects to this proposed alteration please forward a written objection to the registrar:
