Michael Plis – a Melbourne-based IT Professional – has been named recipient of the 2015 Professionals Australia IT scholarship. Michael received his graduate diploma in IT from Chisholm Institute in 2005 and has been a member of Professionals Australia since 2010. Michael is intending to put the $500 towards undertaking an Android/Apple apps course, and a technical writing course. On how he expects the training to contribute to his career progression he said: “Undertaking the apps and technical writing training will formalise the experience I’ve had so far in IT support. It would update my technical skills in apps – a growing niche area in IT – and allow me to communicate in technical areas to a higher standard. Training like this will broaden my employment opportunities and allow me to advance my career so I very much value Professionals Australia’s assistance.”
Professionals Australia believes that Continuing Professional Development (CPD) plays a critical role in keeping skills up-to-date in the ever-changing IT environment and in maximising members’ transferable skills to assist with employment mobility and career advancement.
Congratulations Michael!
