Professionals Australia are proud to announce that Australian Dental Association Victoria Branch (ADAVB) have struck a landmark agreement for dentists and dental specialists in the Victorian public sector.
The new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement EBA will see public-sector professionals receive a significant compound wage increase of 19.2 per cent over the next four years.
“The Agreement for public hospital employees will see public dentists and dental specialists receive long overdue increases in their salaries over the life of the agreements,” said ADAVB CEO Associate Professor Matt Hopcraft.
The first six per cent wage increase took effect on the 1st July and there will subsequent increases of six per cent next year and three per cent increases in the two years following. As well as these increases, employees will receive a $2000 sign-on bonus and a $2000 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) allowance.
Professor Hopcraft said this new agreement provides an incentive for clinicians to become experienced and to remain in the public sector where retention incentives are most needed.
“There is no doubt this deal will make a huge difference to recruiting and retaining dedicated dentists and dental specialists in the public sector,” said ADAVB President Dr Kevin Morris.
The public sector serves over 400,000 vulnerable Victorians and this new agreement will ensure the all public-sector employees get the respect, recognition and reward they deserve.
